Green Edge 360: Now Good Housekeeping Institute Approved

Green Edge 360: Now Good Housekeeping Institute Approved

Independently Tested. GHI Approved. Built for Everyday Laundry.

We are proud that Green Edge 360 has received Good Housekeeping Institute Approved status across our laundry detergent sheets and scent booster range.

For us, the value of this approval is not simply the logo on the packaging. It is the independent assessment behind it.

When customers are choosing a new type of laundry product, particularly one designed as an alternative to traditional liquid detergents, powders or plastic-packaged fragrance products, a reasonable question is:

Does it actually perform in everyday use?

Independent product assessment helps provide an answer that does not come from the brand alone.

What Does Good Housekeeping Institute Approved Mean?

The Good Housekeeping Institute has been reviewing products and providing consumer advice for more than a century.

According to Hearst UK, the GHI Approved accreditation is an independent endorsement available only to products that successfully pass the Institute's consumer Quality Assessment testing.

That distinction matters. Products do not receive GHI Approved status simply because a brand applies for permission to use the logo. They must first go through the Institute's assessment process and meet the required standard.

Why Independent Testing Matters

Laundry products make a wide range of claims about cleaning, convenience, fragrance and performance. Independent testing helps separate a manufacturer's marketing claims from an external assessment of the product.

The wider Good Housekeeping Institute testing programme combines expert evaluation with structured testing methods. Its Home Care & Cleaning Lab, for example, explains that its testing protocols draw on recognised industry standards and in-house testing methods.

For laundry detergent evaluation, the Cleaning Lab describes testing products against a range of different stains on fabric to assess cleaning performance rather than relying only on first impressions.

This kind of approach is one reason independent product assessment can be particularly useful for shoppers comparing unfamiliar formats such as laundry detergent sheets.

Good Housekeeping Approval and Good Housekeeping Awards Are Different

It is worth making an important distinction.

Good Housekeeping Institute Approved is a product endorsement and testing programme. The annual Good Housekeeping Awards are separate editorial programmes with their own entry, evaluation and judging processes.

Good Housekeeping explains that its award programmes can involve both laboratory assessment and real-world consumer testing. Depending on the category, judging considers factors including:

  • Quality
  • Performance
  • Innovation
  • Ease of use
  • Value

You can read more about the selection and testing process directly on the Good Housekeeping Awards criteria page.

Although the programmes are different, both demonstrate the level of structured product evaluation associated with the Good Housekeeping Institute name.

What Green Edge 360 Submitted for Independent Assessment

Green Edge 360 developed its laundry range around a straightforward objective: make everyday laundry simpler while reducing reliance on bulky plastic packaging.

Our range includes Laundry Detergent Sheets and Laundry Scent Boosters, designed for convenient everyday use.

Our laundry detergent sheets offer:

  • Pre-measured, straightforward dosing
  • Compact storage
  • Plastic-free outer packaging
  • Use in hot and cold washes
  • Forest Fresh, Ocean Breeze and Fragrance Free options

Our scent booster range is available in:

  • Forest Fresh
  • Lavender Drift
  • Jasmine Bloom
  • Citrus Meadow

Rather than asking customers simply to take our word for product quality, we chose to invest in independent assessment.

Independent Testing Beyond Good Housekeeping

Good Housekeeping Institute Approval is one part of our wider approach to independent product testing.

Green Edge 360 has also invested in dermatological assessment of selected products. Our Forest Fresh laundry detergent sheets and scent booster have received Dermatest® certification for skin compatibility.

Why This Matters to Green Edge 360

For a growing brand, independent testing is an investment. But we believe it is a worthwhile one.

Customers should be able to look beyond advertising claims and see evidence that a product has been assessed by organisations independent of the manufacturer.

Receiving Good Housekeeping Institute Approved status is therefore an important milestone for Green Edge 360, but more importantly it gives customers another independent reference point when deciding whether our products are right for their household.
